IRACA

“Across a vast land filled with lakes lived Iraca and his nephew Ramiriquí. Their realm was rich in natural abundance: trees lined the shores of the rivers and the lakes of Hunza, Tinjacá, Guatavita, and Iguaqué, among many others, while green mountains stood as guardians of the forests and waters. Only the uncle and his nephew dwelled in that land, but one day they decided to create human beings. One took clay and shaped the body of a man; the other gathered reeds and fashioned the body of a woman. Delighted by their creation, they spent many hours forming new bodies. When there were enough of them, they breathed life into them, and thus their realm became populated.”
